11-10-24
Hi all,
We hope you are all doing well. It has been a rollercoaster at my house since October 26th when my dad got ill and ended up in the hospital. He has spent 11 days in the hospital, 1 emergency surgery in St. George, and is now rehabbing at the care center. We are hopeful that he will be able to regain his strength and return home in time for Thanksgiving. With that being said, we will be postponing the 3 Corners ride. I am hopeful that I will be able to do this (weather and health permitting) in December or January. I will keep you posted.
With the election over, we cannot sit idly by and hope for the best with public lands. Recently, Charlie posted some helpful information on how to get your voices heard. So do not think that since the election was won that the dark forces are vanquished. Their defeat will turn them into a harder opponent willing to do even more terrible things to lock up our public lands. So, make your voices heard as opportunities are presented to give input on trail and land closures.
Upcoming events:
Club meeting on Thursday, November 21st 6pm. This is the last meeting of 2024. Come prepared to talk about what you would like to see in 2025.
Friday, December 6th is the CCTB annual Christmas party. The cost is $22 per person and $27 per person for non-club members. RSVP’s are due the night of the 21st. Please make sure to get your RSVP’s in. There will be a catered dinner, White elephant gift exchange, maybe Santa will show up??, there will be a food drive for the Care and Share. And there will be lots of door prizes. So don’t delay. Unfortunately, we will not be able to take late RSVP’s so if you are ambivalent, so get those RSVP’s into Kathy Barton now.
Thank you for all that you do and see you on the trails, the next meeting and at the Christmas party.
